The Equinox Stele of Revealing

In 1937, Crowley had miniature Stelae of Revealing made to advertise the publication of The Equinox of the Gods, his last and most thorough-going attempt to fulfil the instructions given in the Book of the Law for its publication.

Based on two surviving examples, the Company of Heaven has re-created these miniature stelae using similar materials and techniques as the original.

Each stele's upright board, measuring approx 17.5cm height x 10.5cm width, is cut by hand from 3mm plywood. Prints of the Stele of Revealing, used as illustrations in The Equinox of the Gods, are applied to the front and back of the upright.

The upright section is set in a slotted oak base measuring 10.5cm width x 5cm depth x 1.5cm height.

Applied to the base is a facsimile of the label advertising The Equinox of the Gods, priced at one guinea, and giving a British Monomarks poste-restante address used by Crowley during his peripatetic life in London during the 1930s.

Each stele is presented in a specially designed box covered with a vellum-coloured paper and foil blocked in gold with a design that combines the Stele of Revealing with the heraldic supporters from The Equinox coat of arms.

A Magical Edition of 72

The Company of Heaven has created a magical edition of 72 Equinox Stele of Revealing.

Before the obverse image is applied to the stelae, a specially designed talisman is impressed on the face of the upright board. The purpose of the talisman is to create the 'secret door' referred to in Verse 38 of the third chapter of the Book of the Law, a magical doorway for the energies of the New Aeon.

Each stelae is presented with a removeable black wax impression of the Secret Seal of Solomon, with which he is said to have sealed the 72 spirits of the Goetia into the brazen vessel. All of these seals were made on either a Tuesday or Saturday during an increasing moon in Virgo.
